Ryan Girdler
Ryan Girdler is widely regarded as one of the most prolific point-scorers in rugby league history. Across a stellar 15-year career, he represented the Illawarra Steelers and the Penrith Panthers, where he became a club legend. Known for his precision goal-kicking and attacking brilliance, he played over 200 games for Penrith, scored more than 1,500 points, and was instrumental in the Panthers’ 2003 NRL Premiership victory.
On the representative stage, Girdler wore both the New South Wales and Australian jerseys with distinction. His State of Origin record remains one of the most memorable in history—scoring 32 points in a single match and setting a series record of 52 points in 2000. He went on to represent Australia in Test matches, earning a reputation as one of the game’s great finishers.
After retiring in 2004, Girdler successfully transitioned into broadcasting and business, building a career in media while running a family business with his wife. Yet away from the field and the studio, he faced challenges familiar to many men—struggles with identity, direction, and the transition into life beyond sport.
His turning point came through the discovery of meditation and breathwork, practices that offered clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose. Over time, these daily rituals evolved into the foundation of a new journey—one rooted in wellbeing, conscious living, and men’s mentoring.
Today, Ryan is committed to sharing the tools that transformed his own life. As a breathwork facilitator and men’s mentor, he guides others in cultivating balance, emotional strength, and deeper connection. His story reflects not only the highs of sporting achievement but also the courage to confront life’s challenges and embrace personal growth.
At this forum, Ryan brings both his lived experience and his passion for helping men navigate transitions, reconnect with themselves, and discover what it truly means to thrive.
